Manage and customize your workspace deal stages for pipeline tracking.
Deal Stages
The Deal Stages module allows you to define and manage the stages your sales deals move through in the pipeline.
Stages help your team understand where each deal stands and enable accurate forecasting and reporting.
You can access this from:
Settings → Workspace → Deal Stages
Manage Deal Stages
This section lists all the deal stages currently available in your workspace.
Each stage displays:
- Name – The stage name (e.g., New, Contacted, Qualified)
- Type – Standard or Custom
- Status – Active or Inactive
- Actions – Edit or Delete
Standard stages come pre-configured with the CRM, while custom stages are created by your team.
Creating a Deal Stage
To add a new stage to your pipeline:
- Click + Create Deal Stage.
- Enter a Name for the new stage.
- Add a Description that explains the purpose of the stage.
- Click Create Deal Stage to save.
A new custom deal stage will appear in the list with Type: Custom.
Editing a Deal Stage
Click the Edit icon next to a stage to:
- Update the stage name
- Change the description
Standard stages can be renamed or updated but cannot be removed.
Deleting a Deal Stage
Custom stages can be deleted using the Delete icon.
⚠️ Important:
If any deals are currently assigned to that stage, you must reassign them before deletion.
Standard stages cannot be deleted.
Stage Types
Standard Stages
These are built-in, foundational stages typically used in most pipelines (e.g., New, Qualified, Negotiation).
They help maintain consistency across your organization.
Custom Stages
Created by administrators to support unique workflows or additional steps in your sales process.
Best Practices
- Keep stage names simple and easy to understand.
- Limit the number of stages to avoid pipeline clutter.
- Use descriptions so new team members understand each stage's purpose.
- Regularly review your stages to reflect improvements in your sales process.
- Align deal stages with Sales Pipeline Reporting for accurate forecasting.
